JP Pinard Consulting Engineer, Whitehorse, Canada
JP Pinard is a professional engineer (BSc. mechanical engineering at U of Waterloo, 1991) with a PhD (U of Alberta, 2008) on the wind climate of the mountainous Yukon. Since 1996 he has measured, assessed, and reported on the viability of wind energy in many communities in northern Canada. JP’s primary focus is to help build a renewable energy economy for the Yukon and Canada’s remote communities. Based in Whitehorse, Yukon, JP is collaborating with several organisations to pilot projects to replace fossil fuels in electricity, space heating, and transportation with wind and other renewables through smart grid and energy storage technologies.
